Nederlandse Astronomenclub
The Nederlandse Astronomenclub is the professional society for astronomers in The Netherlands and Belgium. The NAC was founded on 5 October 1918. Currently, the NAC has 472 members: 341 in The Netherlands and Belgium, and 131 abroad.The NAC aims to promote the study of astronomy, as outlined in its articles. To that end, the NAC stimulates education in astronomy at primary and high schools, and organizes the annual Nederlandse Astronomenconferentie.
To achieve its goals, the NAC keeps in touch with related professional and educational societies.
The NAC also keeps in touch with sister associations abroad.
Membership is open to anyone with a PhD in astronomy, master's and PhD students, and physics and maths teachers at highschools.
